Greenmount Primary School

Family Support Worker Newsletter

I am currently covering Mrs Ahmed's post as she is on maternity leave. She recently had a baby girl and both are doing well. We would like to send our warm wishes to them both. At Greenmount, we've had a very busy and exciting term with Eid Assemblies, Class Assemblies, New Parents Meetings, Parents day, Eid parties, Sports Days, Family Blackpool Trip etc.

Children in Year 6 have been very busy with their SATs, High school Transition Days especially as some fell on the day of Eid. We've had Bikeability, whereby our children have been practicing being safe on their bikes outside. Our young entrepreneurs in Year 6 had a very successful Enterprise day selling cakes, biscuits, samosas, playing games, making items to sell for their Leavers Disco. Thank you for all your overwhelming support at the Leavers Assembly. A lovely farwell and best wishes to our Year 6 children and a special thank you to the parents and carers for their support throughout the years.

Throughout school parents and carers were given our new spelling books. Hope your children are finding the spelling homework books fun and enjoyable to do.

We raised £843 for the Al khair foundation during Ramadhan. Well done to all our children who helped raise this amount.

Our recent Parents First Aid course informed us how important it is to treat minor injuries appropriately and effectively. A good discussion took place and was a good reminder.

On a polite note, please could I request parents and carers to book holidays outside term times, as these will not be authorised and penalties will be applied also your child will be at risk of losing their school place.

We would like to thank all parent and carers for all their extra support this term with all their children's activities. We wish you all a happy and healthy summer and look forward to the new term.
